Spoke to Asianet News on the three-day nationwide bank strike on September 28, 29 and 30. Appealed to the public to understand and support the banking fraternity in this struggle.
This strike is not merely about three days away from the counter. It is not merely about one day more or one day less. It is about something much larger, our life, our right to live with dignity, and the right to a humane and balanced working life.

Bank employees and officers have stood with the nation through every crisis. We have worked beyond limits, served customers through difficult times and carried the responsibility of keeping the financial system moving.

Our demand for five-day banking is a long-pending issue. The present strike is the result of the continuing absence of a concrete resolution, according to UFBU.

We understand the inconvenience that a strike may cause to the public. But we also request the public to understand why bank employees are compelled to take this path.
